Filthy Rich Vampire Series
So I read the whole set by Geneva Lee.
Honestly I blasted through it. It was decently written, gripping enough that I managed to read the lot. Which was occasionally a bit of a challenge mostly owing to the feeling of knowing how it is going to go next and getting frustrated. Not necessarily a bad thing, I personally find it frustrating but understand it must be done.
The first book in the series, I have to admit had me sending messages to a friend in complete frustration at times. Don’t get me wrong it is a smutty as f. series. However I did end up buying the second book so I guess it did what it had to do, get readers frustrated enough to buy the next book.
Books two and three I would have comfortably read as a single book, chunky but could have just been squished into the same jacket in my opinion. It would have felt less jarring picking up what felt like the actual middle of the series to get book three.
Book four wasn’t too bad, we got the conclusions we needed, I question whether there might be a spin off for Aurelia. It would be at least interesting. I’d like that. If I am honest I warmed up to the series when I realised it was beginning to become a rather unfortunate addiction.
I read the Cinnamon Bun Book Store
So I ended up reading The Cinnamon Bun Book Store by Laurie Gilmore.
I know initially I didn’t find myself that gripped by the Pumpkin Spice Cafe. I decided to give the benefit of the doubt and just read this one. I think it was a bit better than the PSC in my opinion. The characters were now familiar, the same motley crew just a different set of mains to look at.
To be honest it was much easier to read, much more pleasant to be honest, a little spice, not too cringey. Generally a nice fun summer romance feel. Sure there is always a lack in communication as there always is but it wasn’t too bad to be honest. It was sweeter in my opinion.
If I had to say anything it would be if you made it through the first one the CBB redeems its earlier in the series of books. I think I will read the next one about Christmas trees, but who knows how long that will take me to get through at the moment.
So I finished reading Iron Flame
And I will probably reread both Iron Flame and Fourth wing again. I absolutely loved it. Cherished it even. Obsessed over it. It had me stuttering over thoughts sometimes I didn’t want to pause at all to write them down on here.
The theories in my head for Violets second signet are teetering. It could be speed, it could be distance wielding, gravity was brought up a lot. I don’t know. It could be some kind of foresight or psychic bonding.
The whole Xaden thing. Dude she spent half the book going on about not being able to trust him and then not asking the big scary questions because she was scared of the answers. So frustrating. Like I get it, we all get in our own way, a lot of the time.
This book gave me lots of questions. I mean, I still have no answers for Violet’s hair. What happened to her dad’s research?
If venin have infiltrated and been there under plain sight for a long time, why choose now? Why is Violet significant?
What would have happened if Violet hadn’t figured out the misdirection?
Either way, I cannot wait to get my teeth into Onyx Storm.
